According to this report by The Register, it appears that Apple has axed their plans to add ringtones to the iTunes Music Store. The plan was that you could purchase ringtones and then mix them in GarageBand before transferring them to mobile phone. The new feature was reported to be a headline feature of iLife ‘06 at Macworld. No explanation was given for the feature drop. There have also been rumors of satellite radio integration in iTunes, but there has been no word on that for months, so maybe that too has been dropped.
