ThinkSecret have reports that Apple will finally be releasing the “real” iPod video for their 30th anniversary, hooray! The device has apparently been in development since forever and features a 3.5″ touchscreen, no scroll wheel! Instead when you touch the screen a virtual scroll wheel pops up on the screen. The device will of course connect to your TV as usual, but there is no wireless features so you’ll have to use the same old cables. I suppose this is one of the reasons Apple has been prepping up all these new iTunes video deals, like the latest one with Showtime. Also a previous post on a Apple “gesture” patent makes a little more sense… I’ll definately be getting my card ready to order. I, like many others skipped the first so-called “iPod video” release; and it seems like this will have been worth the wait.

And it even makes sense with Apple’s FM adapter doubling as a remote control — because, with the current iPod design, who really needed a remote?
