Henrico County has renewed their contract with Apple to supply all middle schools with new iBooks. Henrico had previously dropped Apple from their High School program in favor of Dell. The high school Apple iBooks were sold off for $50 each. The new contract is worth $16 million and will suppy Henrico with 12,675 iBook laptops for $1,246 each starting in the new school year. Surprisingly, Dell’s bid was $1,111 per laptop. So what made the Henrico County school board vote 3-1 for Apple?
