Apple today announced the iPod Hi-Fi. Pull black grille off of white box to reveal three speaker drivers. Integrated power supply - no brick. Power it off of six D-size batteries if you want - “Several hours outside.” Two 80mm mid-range drivers in sealed acoustic suspension. In center is 130mm dual voice coil woofer, ported bass reflex design. Great bass, doesn’t distort when cranked up. Universal Dock connector and integrated handles. It’s a sealed resin enclosure, and doesn’t vibrate. iPod integration: there’s a software update for iPods that puts a speaker menu item in the main menu. Tone control, backlight always on or off, large album art on or off. Screen can go black and just show album art. Controlled with the Apple Remote. It costs $349 and goes on sale today. Let’s all go buy something worth nearly as much as our iPod! Is Apple trying to extort us all today?

i agree with david, all this build up….and then nothing.I like the iPod Hifi, but a something really fun and new would have been nice.

Well my thoughts wasn’t on a Video iPod but at least a MacBook Pro 12 inch or at least something in 12 inch way.

Yeah, this event was a scam for everyone that went to it. Even for the readers like us, I feel robbed of my time reading that Steve Jobs had nothing interesting to show at the event. What a total waste. A leather Case, whoopie, tons of fun.

Apple has lost it. They think whatever they release Macfanboys will buy that. Leather case for $99..what the f***. What were they smoking when they came up with something like that crazy?
iPod HiFi. Kiss my Ass Apple. I can get a better deal with loads of feature with that kind of money. Even no DAB of FM. No Display. What do Apple think money grows on tree these days?
Mac mini is overpriced basic computer. Not happy at all.

I don’t understand why ppl pay 399 for apple’s speaker when they can pay 299 for a Bose?
