So finally after around 3 years of planning, developing and then re-developing Microsoft is set to launch their “most advanced” operating system - Microsoft Vista, in November. This blog post at MSDN shows off some of the new features which I suppose are ‘nice’ in Microsoft terms, however the new rounded start button is rather horrid. It will be interesting to see what Apple has instore with Leopard in early 2007. Also, I just noticed - does this mean the Origami devices are already out of date? Mwhahahaha.

Apart from the blog being fairly unattractively written, that is one fairly butt ugly system. Admittedly not as bad as XP, but it’s still cluttered, ugly, and posts a crappy version of Exposê as a big feature. I’m SO impressed.
Yeah, the UMPCs, which can so amazingly run XP Tablet edition, will be outdated come November. When one of your system’s selling points is the ability to run outdated software, you know you’ve gone wrong somewhere.
I for one still have 10.3… I hope Leopard is worth the large price tag.

So it’s not Windows Vista?

Of course it is a horrid thing. Much bold details that take precious space on the screen. I don’t make question to install that thing. It looks like a counterfeited product made in Taiwan. Many nonsense colors, very poor as in beauty as in practicity.
Not a Mac user yet, but struggling to be one more.

Start menu looks kinda like Linux. Finally, Microsoft steals ideas from someone besides Apple. Redmond, start your copiers.

What’s with the spotlight on the Windows icon? Sounds familiar…

[…] To be honest I was quite looking forward to Vista’s release in November. Windows chief Jim Allchin said on Tuesday that Microsoft still plans next quarter to launch a broader test version of Vista, with the new version to be tested by about 2 million people. Microsoft had hoped to have a massive marketing push around Vista and Office 2007, which is slated for the second half of this year. It is not immediately clear how the delay will affect those plans. Will Leopard get released before Vista? Feed for this Entry Trackback Address […]
