Goodbye to iTunes France Craig Pugsley: Integrations What You Need (aka. the assault on Windows)
Mar 22

Microsoft VistaTo be honest I was quite looking forward to Vista’s release in November. Windows chief Jim Allchin said on Tuesday that Microsoft still plans next quarter to launch a broader test version of Vista, with the new version to be tested by about 2 million people. Microsoft had hoped to have a massive marketing push around Vista and Office 2007, which is slated for the second half of this year. It is not immediately clear how the delay will affect those plans. Will Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” get released before Vista?

Who knows. We were told that Intel based Macs would ship until mid ‘06 but we had them at MWSF. 10.5 won’t be shown off until August but it’s quite possible it will be polished enough to ship MWSF.

Chances are we will just get an update on the progress in Jan with a date that’s between March and June ‘07

However I suspect Vista will be pushed one more time because what’s the difference between Jan ‘07 and March ‘07? either way it’s past the christmas rush and before the school buying rush.

My understanding is that vista will have some pretty hefty harware requirements, which many users can’t meet. is this true?

If you take a look at this movie, I can imagine that it’s true: ‘Out of memory’ when demoing Vista..
