I swear I’ve seen this before as someones dream iPod video, anyway here are the specifications: the device has 4GB of flash memory, a 2.4″ colour screen, a microphone plug for voice recording, FM radio support, USB 2.0 support, it can play MP3/WAV/OGG/WMA audio and Xvid (.avi) video. It has 20 hours of battery life for audio and 6 hours for video. Lots of features in a little package! Available direct from Meizu in Korea, I think.

i looked thru the pictures of this device on Meizu’s website…it appears to me that this is clearly a infringement on apple in some way. i dont know the copyright laws, but the GUI looks very similar to apple’s ipod…not to mention that one of the pictures on the website shows the background on the screen to be an exact copy of Mac OS Panther’s aqua blue desktop picture

I thought to be a “clone” of a product, there would actually need to be a product to clone. The feature sets are different and other than coming in black and white and the screenshot above having an apple background, I don’t see why Apple would really care or even have a case against these folks.

it’s not a Korea, it’s a Chinese!

THIS PRODUCT IS CHINESE!!! NOT KOREAN.
CLONES(COPIES) ARE USUALLY FROM CHINA (They just can’t make their own……sigh…)
anyways, stop making clones and crappy things CHINA! im sick of MADE IN CHINA craps.

Haha…all these Ipod fanboys are scared that someone finally is making a legitimate challenger to the Nano. I can only hope that meizu will move into the higher capacity storage arena and undo the madness of the Apple marketing madmen. UMS for life!

umm…i’m a law student and yes…copying a design can cause an infringement case. but there is only a case if the product harmed the “so called original” product in some way…
and honestly?
i can’t see any reason for a case…

hey i brought this meizu m6 miniplayer last week and guess what its 100% better than the ipod nano i had before in every single way!! its such an ipod killer!. Meizu will be dominating 2007!!

I kinda like it… It doesnt have many of the little draw back of the ipod. Its ui isnt always consistent however.
Apple have its hardware manufactured in China.. Well guess what, any company that does so finds themself with cloned device. Its common practice to take the blueprint at the factory you work at and start your own. Patents holds no ground in China. Of course we could block the export if it is indeed a patent infrigement but thats about it.
Gooooo China! Gooo Meizu!!!

Well well well… I think that there’s more than Meizu out there…
For all the Apple fans, honestly, there are thousands of Ipod clones, Mac clones out there.
Seriously, have you ever thought of the fact that even though its an Ipod, it has many more features, and looks cooler (depending on the company, some are amazing others look like the Ipod…)
Do you happen to know that Ipods, Razrs, Macs, PS2s etc. all have clones and the majority of them are 30 times better than the orginal???
Give it a break, everything has a clone, even Operating Systems, car.. LOL
Clones will be everywhere, when will you get one?
