Apple Recon is reporting that Apple is to hold a special event on February 20th. We must point out that the site has no known accuracy.

We have just gotten an anonymous tip from a source that indicates that Apple is planning a special event on February 20 to introduce Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), iLife ‘07 and iWork ‘07 as well as updated Mac Pros. Mac Pros will be available immediately with a free upgrade to 10.5 when it ships, and the ship date for 10.5 will be confirmed for 3/24/07 as we have been predicting for quite some time now.

    Hopefully 8-core system!
I’m so glad that I waited for a few months..
Cause not al major software isn’t universal yet.
Still wating on Flash 9, Creative Suite 3 complete etc.
Then I’m buying a mac pro 8-core but when the first revision is 3 months old…. :-)
Wouldn’t buy 1st editions. Always problems. Though I think Apple is testing these system very well before releasing them.

What with the possibility of WWDC happening in June (WAY! early)… I’d bet an announce for shipping will have to happen soon. The seeds we’re seeing are awesome! Anyone willing and able to put down their $500 for a Select membership ought to consider it… particularly bona fide developers. Well worth it.

[…] Well, we like it OUR way, and are glad that you do too! Our readers keep coming through with the Diggs and comments and tips and support!! Keep it coming!! Without further ado, here’s some of the crap you can see from the “other guys” after the jump…MacShrine writes that we have “no known accuracy” (apparently they didn’t do their homework to see how many of the Macworld announcements we got dead right)! We’d like to see what kind of “accuracy” they have!? […]

[…] The site launched just before Macworld this month and has rocketed to the top of the Mac-O-Sphere based on their exclusive reports of a February 20th event which they claim will herald the debut of iLife ‘07, iWork ‘07, new Mac Pros, and OS X 10.5 Leopard. No other rumor sites seem to have picked up on this particular piece of info, and Apple Recon is now claiming the response of those sites is that of jealousy. Specifically, they feel MacShrine and MacSlash in particular have not shown them the proper respect, pointing to Apple Recon’s unproven track record in an attempt to throw a little cold water on this hot rumor. […] You would think that a brand new Mac site would at least be grateful to be mentioned on an established 3 and a half year old site, but it seems not… Apple Recon have been bitching about treatment from ourselves and other Mac sites on how we handled a story of theirs. In a story from a few days ago, “Apple Special Event on February 20th?“, we said: We must point out that the site has no known accuracy. […]
