Just got info from a new source so treat as “a possibility”. New MacBook Pros tomorrow powered by Intels new Santa Rosa chipset. One of the new model configs (the “middle” model) is as follows:
MacBook Pro 15.4″ (MA6019LL) - $2499
15.4″ LED-backlit LCD
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo “T7700″
2GB RAM
Radeon X1700M
160GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
Built-in Airport Card
Bluetooth 2.0
2 USB 2.0 ports
1 FireWire + 1 FireWire 800 port
DVD Burner (with BTO of Blu-ray player)
Mac OS X 10.4.9 (8P2178)
Sounds pretty good, yum! ![]()

BluRay BTO makes a helluva lotta sense. Now, if they’ll get off high center and make HD content available thru the iTunes Store we’d have something. Methinks the gap is being bridged (hoping I’m not living in my fanboy fog again).

When the Blu-ray DVD unit comes, the Mac Book Pro’s display (may become a LED back light unit) must be a full HD spec, or/and, HDMI display must be connected to Mac Book Pro, I think.
It seems higher cost than present …hummm…
But, I hope the Blu-ray unit available…-R/-RW are better…
(The best solution is Blu-ray/HD DVD compatible drive available…)

Another miss rumor by Macshrine… Maybe you need to “fire” your unreliable source

Well new MacBooks came out instead. Just hold out and we’ll see if this is correct. It was from a new source.
