Apple is set to announce a massive upgrade of their .Mac internet suite. This much needed update comes after Jobs himself said “I couldn’t agree with you more and we will make up for lost time in the very near future”, in response to a question on .Macs rather poor state. The upgrade is due to Apple and Google’s cosy partnership. Google will be providing remote storage for Apple removing their reliance on Akamai.

[…] and MacBook Pros have already happened. I would expect a very busy SteveNote. I will agree with MacShrine and guess that an update to .Mac is in the cards. At this point there is no reason for Apple to keep the service if they don’t do something […]

When did Apple change their “reliance on Akamai”? Never heard that one before…

  3. Luigi Says:

They haven’t yet… at the moment they heavily rely on Akamai services. But now they’ll be swapping over to Google.

  4. MacGeek Says:

It’s been a week and Apple switched to Google. No.
A .Mac upgrade was released? Nope.

So much for the accuracy of the news you put on this website. Did you label them as rumors? No.

Are you trying to make sensationalist headlines to get traffic? Yes. Are you trustworthy? No.

Should I unsubscribe from the RSS feed and e-mail others I know that follow you to do the same? Yes, and I will, promise, today ;)

Not quite sure why I’m taking the time to reply to you, but here we go.

So regarding the rumor, it didn’t come true - yet. Just hold on. You obviously aren’t aware we have been in this game for nearly 4 years now and if you search sites such as MacRumors, AppleInsider and ThinkSecret you can find numerous mentions over the past years on rumors that have come true.

It is labeled as a rumor. Perhaps you were too thinking of bitchy things to say about us. The question mark should be enough and so should us tagging the story as a rumor *sigh*. Next time shall we put put something like: OMG RUMOR ALERT!!!!!!

Traffic? We get enough of that thank you. We don’t have any advertising on this site, so I don’t see why you would think more traffic would be a good thing? Just raises the bandwidth costs for us.
