So finally after 2 years it’s ready. Apple will officially release Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard tonight worldwide at 6pm. They do seem to have broken their own ship date as many customers have already got them delivered to them as far back as Tuesday and shops in the UK ignored the instructions and started selling copies this morning. We’re waiting for the launch though, for anyone who has it - how is it?

Following on from our story a week or so ago, Apple today officially announced that Leopard will be shipping next Friday on the 26th October at 6pm. About time!
Ars Technica is reporting that Apple is in the midst of expanding iTunes Plus to include indie labels and to drop the price of all iTunes Plus songs to $0.99. Apple will keep the old “protected” songs at $0.99. It is said that the price drop is a response to Amazon’s new MP3 Store which has been very popular since it’s launch 3 weeks ago.
Apple today seeded Safari 310A18 for Windows. The build weighs in at 15.5 MB. The current time-scale means the final version should be released by the time Leopard comes out later this month. Some major known bugs include:
• Crash in preferences clicking Edit buttons
• Can’t drag buttons already in toolbar in customization mode
• Bonjour appears enabled but doesn’t work after upgrading
• MS Silverlight 1.0 beta plug-in is not supported
• Safari Win on Tablet PC: Virtual Keyboard marker does not appear
• Crash occurs while printing in Safari (Korean)
• Safari can’t find the right glyphs on some Yahoo site
• Yahoo.com main page rollovers render incorrectly (14920)
• Some characters display as SimpChinese characters in TA
• Web page area of window doesn’t redraw if page isn’t loaded
• Spelling window is too small to fit buttons on Chinese OS
• Print Preview icons drawn offscreen
• Control buttons missing in print preview window
Finally! Apple today announced they will be shipping Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard at 6pm on Friday 26th October at all Apple Stores worldwide.
