Animated Christmas “Get A Mac” ad Goodbye ThinkSecret!

There are now more and more reasons why you would want to switch to a Mac. Macintosh computers are becoming a more and more appealing alternative to Windows computers, and here is why:

1. Beauty – Mac hardware and software is amazingly beautiful. The hardware of a Mac is sleek, shiny and clean. It is modern, light and looks great compared to some of the ugly cases that most computers come with. Mac software also looks great; it comes with a similar style to the computer itself, light, sleek and shiny. Mac software is pleasing on the eye and the Mac OS itself has a great interface. It is easy to find what you want using the glossy and well organised interface.

2. Easy – While many Windows users are put off with changing to Macs because they think that they won’t be able to use it. It is actually far easier to use a Mac than it is to use a Windows PC. While it may take a few days getting used to it is easy to learn. The whole interface of a Mac is organised in such a way that it is easy to find the setting you want or the feature you want to use.

3. You can keep Windows – Now that Macs run on Intel chips it is easy to run Windows on a Mac, you can even run them at the same time. Apple provides software called Boot Camp that lets you boot into Windows on a Mac computer but this requires you to shut down your computer. There is now software that can let you run in Mac and also run Windows while you are in Mac. It is basically like having a window open in Mac with Windows running in it.

4. Security – Macs have an incredibly good security record. In 2005 (almost 3 years ago now) there were 114,000 viruses for Windows PCs and just a few for Macs. This means you are extremely safe if you use a Mac. You don’t have to worry about downloading and running programs like you do in Windows.

5. Entertainment – Macs are built to entertain the user. They come with a huge suite of multimedia applications such as music players, movie players and more. It isn’t just listening and viewing that you can do with a Mac. A standard Mac comes with a huge amount of multimedia creation and editing tools. You can create and edit your own home videos, edit music, edit photos and more. Sure you get tools like this for Windows, but in Windows they are built for professionals and are hard to use. With Macs it is so simple to create a photo slideshow or edit a picture of yourself, or anything else.

6.Easy Everything – Macs come packed with drivers for loads of things. While many users may be weary of switching to Mac because they think their printer or camera won’t work, in fact they may work even better. Macs are filled up with drivers for almost anything you can think of. The same applies for software, while lots of Windows software isn’t available for Macs there is a huge suite of software that does. While a specific program may only work in Windows there may be a better alternative for Macs. Most software providers have already released or are creating Mac versions of products; Microsoft has even created a version of Office that runs in Mac.

7.All in One – When you get a Windows PC it can take weeks to get all of the software you need and you can be constantly downloading software for something that you need. A Mac comes bundled with a massive amount of software. Need to edit a video? You’re ready. This is the same for lots of Mac software. Everything comes bundled together.

8. Communicate – Macs come with a large amount of communication features. As soon as you plug in your Mac you will be able to have a video chat with your friends on the other side of the world or share files with people near you using BlueTooth.

9. Low Specifications – Mac OS X can run on very low specs. While you may be looking for a high spec PC so that you will be able to run Vista it may be a better idea just to buy a Mac. The chances are that if you do you will be able to upgrade to the latest versions of Mac for years to come, without upgrading your hardware. While Windows users expect to have to buy a whole new power PC to run the latest version of Windows, Mac users don’t. Mac is lightweight and optimized so it will be able to run for ages. Windows also slows down after a few months so the only viable option is a reinstall. With Mac there is no need for this and you will be able to run your Mac for years without doing any maintenance. Mac OS Leopard still works comfortably on G4s!

Only one of these reasons would be good enough to switch to Mac, but there are so many, even more than listed here. Don’t stick around on your slow, ugly, software-less Windows PC, switch to a Mac today and brighten up your world!

That’s all very true, but Leopard does not include AppleWorks so that is no longer any drawing tools. Odd, considering that Mac is supposed to be the tool for the artist!

Here’s another thing about using a Mac. It’s somehow more fun to use than a PC. Perhaps it has something to do with those Mac vs PC ads going around but that’s the way I really feel. PC feels old. Mac feels like an exciting new venture that comes up with original and beautiful ideas every day. Oh, wait. I’m talking in macroscopic Microsoft and Apple here now. But you know what I mean…

well yes, mac has def. built up its reputation, although i have 3 G4 power pcs at home and i spend just as much time troubleshooting them for my family as i spent troubleshooting my PC. Also, when it comes time to troubleshoot, there is a lack of tools or utilites aimed at repair/troubleshooting. it seems that the OS is designed to keep you on the extreme user end, far away from insight as to processes running, cpu & memory used by processes running, and so forth. In windows there is safe mode, task manager, an option to repair the OS in case of file/kernel corruption, built in dual boot options, msconfig…

My friend had a Mac but she sold it, she said it was not “user-friendly.” At that time, I thought along the same lines, But recently, my dad bought a Mac and and now, I’m using it, too. It’s very entertaining to use a Mac, I can attest to that. It just takes a while to get used to.
