Seems Apple is preparing a new RSS reader exclusive for the iPhone. Visit: http://reader.mac.com/ to preview the splash page. No idea when it will launch, but we’re guessing tomorrow. Good to see Apple taking .Mac a bit more serious with new services.

Apple is set to announce a massive upgrade of their .Mac internet suite. This much needed update comes after Jobs himself said “I couldn’t agree with you more and we will make up for lost time in the very near future”, in response to a question on .Macs rather poor state. The upgrade is due to Apple and Google’s cosy partnership. Google will be providing remote storage for Apple removing their reliance on Akamai.
Remember a few weeks ago when Apple previewed an updated “web 2.0″ version of .Mac webmail, well it’s finally up! If you’re a .Mac user just login as usual and you’ll be treated to the new glossy, Ajaxy and uberlicious interface. We still want more than 1GB storage though Apple!

Finally after like 4 years we get an update! Check all the new “Web 2.0″ features out at this special .Mac page. We’re loving the sound of all of it, especially the quick reply and drag-drop! Our account runs out in 12 days and we’ll be sure to renew. Also of note is even more evidence that Apple is moving away from Aqua, there’s no pinstripes to be seen!
Remember a few days week ago when Apple mistakenly revealed .Mac users bandwidth had gone up to 1TB, well things have become even more fishy since Apple have announced:
“.Mac will be undergoing scheduled maintenance from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM PST on 1/10/06, all .Mac services will be affected. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
All .Mac users will be pleased to know that Apple has generously upgraded our bandwidth allotment to 1TB! Could this be in preparation for something at Macworld? Perhaps storing and synchronizing video files between computers? Weren’t ther rumors a while back that the Mac mini would get Front Row 2 support which included streaming heavy video files, this could confirm it’s introduction. Whatever the reason, thanks Apple!
